Can't Buy Me Love

Kendra's Totally Awesome 80's Birthday Bash turned hip. Dressing up in 80's is actually not that hard to pull off these days. The cut off jean skirt, pink top and shoes are all mine. And love to wear on any given day. Just add a tacky belt (that is actually in style) and the old mom's leggings and with no problem you have your 2007 oh i mean 80's dress. Well it was Kendra's (my new roommate who is new to Waco) and everyone was dressed for it. My favorite part of the night was watching part of Karate Kid. Supporting the 80's we thought it would be best to show Karate Kid. Considering that must of been some of the 80's childhood favorites. "Wax on, Wax off"

Berlin to Hollywood

Aunt Kat & Aidan with their cool Hollywood sunglasses on. We would not want anyone to notice us so we wore our shades.

COOL AIDAN

Aidan is so cool in his sunglasses. This would be Aidan's first time to wear his cool sunglasses that Aunt Kat gave and ride his bike. WOW. Aidan has this same grin on his face the whole time we were out on his bike. He thought he was the coolest dude around on the block. Plus it does not hurt that his Aunt thinks the same thing about him. I went this summer to Berlin and had a blast with Aidan!

Vikings find America

Yes, that is me hugging the leg of this large Viking man. In the middle of Minnesota there is this large Viking. There is a lot of history about the Vikings coming to Minnesota and discovering America. Well, it seems that Alexandria, Minnesota is just one of those places. Just about 15 mins from my families lake house lies this large Viking. I remember as a kids look at the Viking and thought it was as big as the statue of Liberty. In a kids eyes everything is SO BIG. But through the years this Viking has moved in Alexandria from being in the middle of the street to now a park area. Now i know that its not as big as the statue of liberty. ITS BIGGER! Just kidding.

Just thought i would share about the Large Viking in Alexandria.

Great Roommates!

My roommates for the past year! They were so much fun. I love it when God just works it all out. Lauren & Melissa are some of the sweetest. Melissa moved out of 2003 Colonial in May to marry Clark (our 5th roommate most of the time). Lauren and I had a forced parting due to being in different season of life. But it has been a really fun year watching movie, getting scared by Clark behind many doors, proposal, mattress sliding down the stairs, having Gobi for a long visit, Amazing race every Sunday night, games, lifegroup and all the party we had together in the house. Thanks Lauren & Mel for being such great friends and roomies! I love you!

The Shore are now on Foreign Shores

Well it finally happen through a few blood, sweat and tears. The Shores got on that plane and headed to Thailand. To the right, some of dear friends are saying goodbye....how the people in Thailand would do it. Hello and good bye are the same. Swadeeka (i think that is how you spell it)? I don't know if it was so sad to see them go as much as the realization that my time here in Waco is coming to a close. I know I will miss the Shores. But the mix emotions of my time is drawing closer to leaving for THailand seem to be some what overwhelming. I am excited about what is ahead, but it seems like I need to reflect on what God has done in me these past years in Waco. I am so thankful for such a great place to live in community. If it was not for community i would not be even going to Thailand. The Shores are such great team leaders. They lead with great conviction and a given heart to what the holy spirit wants to do through them. Wow what life is going to be like in the next three years with them. We will see!

Bye-Bye 2003

Saying Good-bye to my favorite room in Waco. Rough moments in life. This might of been one of them. 2003 Colonial has been by far some of the best times in Waco. I laughed in this house so much. It was such a party house but at the same time it was such a place of rest. It allowed for out lifegroup to meet every week there. It was full of worship and encouragement. This has a been such a home. And plus everyone that knows me knows how much I love my bed. I think I might love it a little too much. I am sad to say good-bye to 2003 Colonial and say hello to something that is so foreign. I am so glad I can be at rest with God along and not in just my surroundings.

Visit to Grandma's in Missouri

I so excited, i got to visit a couple of day with my grandmother. She is almost 90 years old and has been going to the same beauty shop for 48 year every Friday. When I walked in the beauty shop with her on the Friday of my visit. The stylist lady remembered me coming with my grandma when I was really young. Wow, that is a long time. That is what I love about my grandma...consistent and set in the old way of thinking. I like that she carries her generation with her.

Upgrade on the rental

Renting cars....who does not want to take a picture next to their rental car on vacation. Why do people do that? But in honor of those who have taken a picture standing in front of your rental car on vacation. Nat & I thought it would be awesome idea to show everyone the awesome upgrade we got from economy to compact/mid-size. How did we get upgrade just with a cute smile. SAY CHEESE, CHEESE!

Fire or Freeze?

No, real what the Natalie doing? It looks like she is worshiping the fire. But considering the odds of that being a church-planter and all. Let me put all your hearts as rest. She in awe that two girls were able to start this awesome fire in the fireplace. YES! It would be the first fire that either me (kat) or Natalie have ever done alone. Let me just brag a little bit about this fire. This fire did not go out all night. It heated the whole cabin. And lucky us or else we were going to have to jump cabins down to grandma's cabin. Grandma's has a heater. I am sure your wondering where the heck were Natalie and Kat this time. Well, we were in Minnesota at my families lake house. Nat and I had the great privilege to meet up in Minneapolis for a college friends wedding and spend a couple of day at the lake. Well the lake adventure turn into an awesome time to sit around the fire. Finally, after a couple of days of 50 degree weather the southern girls saw the sun come out. So it jumped up to 80 and just in time to get in the lake and ski once. It was such a great time laughing and praying for one another.

WOW, I have a blog! I have started this blog with the intent of people keeping up with my day to day thoughts. Since I am not much of writer they should not be too long. I am starting this on the eve of my 28th birthday. What a moment to pause and thank the Lord that I made it this far. As I look back at last and towards the future it seems so strange to have those many years behind me and so many experiences. Experiences that some people would pay millions dollars for and I just got on the bus with Jesus and he took me there in such a short amount of time. But time does fly by when you are having fun. My life has been full of fun and joy. It has its ups and downs. But I am thankful for the highs and the low. The lows have taught me character and the highs have encouraged me to run the good race. So as I turn this corner on another year. I want to continue to run a good race. I want to see favor of God on my life. See that the Lord is good and testify of his goodness to all.
